In 2012, Cro released his third studio album tru. on the label Chimperator Productions. It was his first album with his own production label/company `Chimperator Productions`, which he has founded in 2011. The album was released worldwide including CD, digital download and vinyl record. The album was recorded during a short period of time of about 4 weeks.[27] Cro wrote the songs for the album himself, with the help of his friend and musical collaborator Kaas. Some of the beat tape producer's tracks also appear on the album, as is the case with track 6: 'Hi Kids'. He also wrote the album's lyrics, as well as the vocal parts for the first and last track, which are sung by Cro's live band, which comprises of his two best friends, Max Lang and Lukas Angst. The album was mixed by Mark B, who, at the time, was working at the studio in which Cro recorded the album. The mixtape was released in May 2012 on the label Chimperator Productions and distributed worldwide by the label Horsepower Records. It also shows the first release of the label, which is Cro's own production label, which was founded in 2011 in Berlin, Germany. The album was also released in the USA, where it reached #1 on the Billboard Rap Albums Chart.[28][29]
Cro's fourth studio album Meduzia, his first release after 8 months of silence, was released on 19 June 2016 by the label Chimperator Productions, distributed by the label Horsepower Records, and distributed worldwide by the label Chimperator Records. The album was recorded by Cro himself, in which he also wrote the lyrics and produced the album himself. Besides the previously mentioned live band, he also collaborated with rapper Lil Mo and produced three songs with her. The first two songs, which were produced by Cro and Lil Mo, were released as singles. The album was also released in the USA by the label Chimperator Records and distributed by the label Chimperator Distribution. The three songs were released digitally as singles, and two of them also received an official music video.
In 2014, the single 'Kein Benz' was released, in which Cro sang in both German and English. The song reached the top of both the German and Austrian single charts.[30] The music video was directed by long time friend Kristian Weber.
