Edit the bw1000.ini file to change the value of the validVersion(x) variable, as follows, where x is the right-most digit of the version number. (For example, to increase BibleWorks 10 to BibleWorks 9, delete the 2 from the last rightmost digit of the string: "9" becomes "31" which becomes "10000" which becomes "90000". validVersion(50) = '9' validVersion(51) = '10000' validVersion(52) = '10001'
2. Use Windows Explorer or File Explorer to search for the BWn00.ini file, where n, as above, is the number (5, 6, 7, 8, 9 etc.) of the version of BibleWorks in use. For BibleWorks 10 it is bw1000.ini.
filePath the location of your (uncompressed) BibleWorks 10 or later database file. Note that you must be able to move to the location specified in the next step-unless you are using B&W 9. Tired of the messages you get when you try to import a file? Change the filePath.
fileDir the location of the data directory that contains your BibleWorks 10 or later database file. You may need to adjust this for BibleWorks 9. Obviously, set this to the location of your version of BibleWorks 10 or later database file.
Title the name of the database file you wish to copy to your hard drive. You don't have to set this, but it will allow you to always know what you're copying and to recognize a file’s extension. (eg. "CW10", "Thai Bible") 4. Save the file, and close. Now for the tricky part. Copy the file with BW10:s nomenclature-except for the last folder you’ve got. This is the BibleWorks 9 directory structure: d2c66b5586
