These serial numbers were found on the bottom of the sink faucet with labels that said “Product of Bauer-Goldschmidt, Glas-Getters & Co.” The serial number on the bottom of the sink faucet model number was 060.060. The serial number on the bottom of the head model number was 060.060. Overall, the serial numbers for the head and sink faucets run sequentially. Coke-bottle image attached to bottom of handle.
This style of sealing in a faucet/pipe has many names: graphite seal, glass solder, glue-gel and silicone seal. Any of these names could apply, though usually it is graphite that is used. The manufacturer of this faucet used silcone as a seal, but it cracked.
The jets on the faucets were driven by a pressurized circuit so that when the handle was turned fully clockwise the jets would blast the water. The jets shot very aggressively and for short periods, but the operating principle was that the jets would heat up and stay on for less than 1/2 second. This was done to keep the temperature of the glass in the faucet down in case the glass broke, so that the gooey mess in the glass would be easier to clean.
